Who Invented The Internet – Who Discovered Internet

The invention of the internet is not the story of one day written by one person, but its a work of many pioneers and scientists, engineers and programmers working over the decads.

So, we cannot give credit to one person for the invention of the internet. But two prominent names the computer scientists Vinton Cerf and Bob Kahn are credited for the invention of this superhighway communication protocol called the internet. So, shortly it is Vinton Cerf and Bob Kahn.

The first inventors who invented the internet: initial experiments by researchers

The idea of the internet is originated from computer laboratories of France, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Initially, scientists anticipated the worldwide network of communication before the full-fledged invention of today’s fast-changing and advanced system of the internet.

An innovative idea of the “world wireless system” was presented by Nikola Tesla in the early 1900s. After that, this thought was expanded in the shape of searchable storage systems of books and media by two great farsighted thinkers Paul Otlet and Vannevar Bush almost in the 1930s and 1940s.

The long-distance networking was first accomplished in 1969 by the team of two scientific researchers at ULCA and Stanford. They carried an experiment of the two-node network by Leonard Kleinrock. This was also an experiment of “Packet switching”.

Packet switching is a method of data transfer between two networks; it segregated the information into small packets and then spread across different channels. Packet switching is also an essential building block for a modern data transfer system that is used in email and other long-distance networking systems.

Creation of  “Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET)

In the late 1960s, the primary serviceable model of the Internet was created known as the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET). Initially supported by the U.S. Branch of Defense, ARPANET utilized parcel changing to enable various PCs to convey on a solitary system. On October 29, 1969, ARPAnet conveyed its first message, a “node-to-node” correspondence starting with one PC then onto the next.

(The principal PC was situated in an exploration lab at UCLA and the second was at Stanford; everyone was the size of a little house.) The message—”LOGIN”— was short and basic, however, it smashed the youngster ARPA arrange in any case: The Stanford PC just got the note’s initial two letters.

The invention of Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol, or TCP/IP

With the advancement of technology, the networking system developed with ease. In 1973, two people Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf (the persons who invented the internet) by invented an advance system of networking known as Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol, or TCP/IP, which is considered as the modern form of internet. This is a networking model through which data can be transferred and shared in multiple communication systems.

Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf developed a universal networking system that can be used for networking and communication over the globe without any difficulty and problem.

They imagined the future with a different eye, as their vision that if every country will have its own networking system with a different language then it will be expensive and difficult to make the world a global village so there should be a common TCP/IP, that may resolve this problem globally.

Basically, they made the TCP/IP a global language of computer networking. Their effort make the technology of the internet faster, cheaper and an easy way of communication.

Development of the first commercial network

A business rendition of ARPANET, known as Telenet, is acquainted in 1974 and considered to be the first ISP (Internet service provider). Later In 1983, ARPANET embraced TCP/IP. With the emergence of these two systems of technology, the researchers developed the system of modern internet assembled by “networks to networks”.

Development of the World Wide Web (WWW)

In 1991, A researcher named Tim Berners-Lee presents the World Wide Web (WWW) system to people in general and turns it out to be freely accessible.

The WWW is the thing that the vast majority today consider the “Web” or a progression of destinations and pages that are associated with joins. But it is a system with many websites and hyperlinks which provide information and assessable data from all over the world.

The Internet had several individuals who built up the models and innovations utilized today, yet without the WWW, the Internet would not be as well known as it is today. So, we can say that Tim Berners-Lee also the person who invented the internet, by invited a remarkable feature of the internet.

Development of Java and JavaScript

After the innovation of advance internet networking system and world wide web system, web applications and apps for android and smart technology devices a system was launched which was Initially known as oak, Java.

It is a programming language created by James Gosling and others at Sun Microsystems in 1995. Today, Java is as yet used to make Internet applications and other programming programs. JavaScript was invented/created by Brendan Eich in 1995 and initially known as LiveScript.

LiveScript was discharged with Netscape Navigator 2.0 and renamed to JavaScript with Netscape Navigator 2.0B3. JavaScript is a deciphered customer-side scripting language that permits a website specialist the capacity to embed code into their site page.

Final Thoughts

The Internet is now a technology without that we even cannot imagine the world. It impacted all areas of living and influenced every domain, that development could happen just because of the internet.

It makes life very easy and advanced with technology and made the communication interesting and easy even in long distances. The web advanced the web among the general population and filled in as a pivotal advance in building up the immense trove of data that the greater part of us presently access every day.

We can also witness that internet technology is also developing day by day and is in hand in the form of android apps, online shopping, selling and purchasing, etc. We can also see that the internet is not of one man’s effort but there are many names who invented the internet.
